Mission Statement

The American Friends of the Documentation Center of Austrian Resistance is a non-profit organization established in 2011 with the purpose of furthering the mission of the Documentation Center of Austrian Resistance (DÖW), fostering dialogue between the DÖW and North American scholars, and promoting scholarly research in Austrian contemporary history, cultural studies and political science relating to Austria, with a special focus on the Nazi era.

The DÖW, located in Vienna, is one of the Republic of Austria’s most important institutes for the study of National Socialism and a major repository for documents, books, articles and data bases concerning Austria under Nazi rule and the aftermath of Nazism in the Second Austrian Republic.

Regular membership in the American Friends of the Documentation Center of Austrian Resistance is $40.00 p.a.
